Wise Words From a Young Source

Posted in Listener Stories

Nepal Wise words from a young source smallTWR Country Focus: Nepal

"I am 9 years old. All of my family members are Christians, and my parents are pastors in my village church. I used to be very proud and greedy. I didn’t obey my parents or respect the elderly. My experience in Sunday school was bad as I was always bullied. Since then, I refused to attend Sunday school. But God had a wonderful plan for me.

"One day, a friend from Sunday school introduced me to the programme Balbatika, and she encouraged me to listen to it. But I paid her no attention. However, about four months later, I met one of the TWR Nepal staff members, who motivated me to listen to the radio programme, highlighting its advantages to me. At that very moment, I was touched by her words and started listening from that day onward.

Training Leaders With Kingdom Principles

TWR’s primary mission is to proclaim the gospel, but its holistic approach to ministry also includes a commitment to help build leadership skills in areas where such training is lacking.

Though much of the information provided over the airwaves or in digital format is geared toward church leaders and pastors, programmes such as Tools for Wise Leadership also include lessons that help Christians play important roles in their wider communities.

Dear praying TWR friends, colleagues and partners,

Some time ago a plan was conceived to extend TWR Africa’s broadcasts to focus more fully on Nigeria, West Africa.
Over time God watered the seeds of this plan until it matured into a firm resolution to see more of the 180 million people* of Nigeria served with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our bold plan sees the installation of a second 200kW AM transmitter at the present TWR West Africa Transmitter Station (WATS) along with a suitable antenna system to cover Nigeria.

Rare Confirmation of ‘Precious Support’

North Korea Rare confirmation of precious support smallTWR Country Focus: North Korea

Because they are so rare, messages from listeners in North Korea serve as great encouragement for the TWR Korea ministry team.

TWR’s national partner based in South Korea reaches out to the north, sometimes referred to as “the hermit kingdom” because of its reclusiveness on the world stage, with programmes such as Gospel Train for Children and Let’s Talk About Something. News reports say North Koreans are not allowed to listen to foreign broadcasts, and radios are fix-tuned to government stations.

Rescued from a Living Hell

Venezuela Rescued from a living hell smallTWR Country Focus: Venezuela

Luisa is one of those listeners who stumbled upon TWR programming when she was searching the dial and came across music that caught her attention.

“All of a sudden a pastor came on the air,” Luisa (not her real name) wrote in a letter received by TWR. “He began teaching the Word of God and said that we could leave our burdens, problems and sins with Jesus. We could find peace in him. These teachings had a great impact on me because I needed someone who would be able to help me with this tremendous problem I was facing with my family.”
